Website to app
The general service and decisions to get started.
A custom shop, a SaaS platform or a headless system needs an assessment of available integrations. The website technology is only the starting point.
This page covers ecommerce beyond WooCommerce: managed platforms, custom systems, B2B catalogues and architectures with separate frontend and backend. WooCommerce has a dedicated page covering its plugins and checkout.
For a managed platform, we check APIs, permissions, service terms and the ability to use checkout and authentication within the app. Platform access does not imply that every function is exposed.
For custom ecommerce we assess documentation, available endpoints and who maintains the backend. If an API is missing, developing it or adapting web pages is additional work to estimate.
B2B catalogues may use private price lists, minimum quantities, order approval or quotations rather than immediate purchases. These workflows need description and testing separately from a conventional retail checkout.
When orders, stock and customer records come from different systems, we define the source of each data item and behaviour when a service fails. The app should not duplicate commercial rules without an agreed strategy.
Assessment needs the platform and version, URL, available API documentation, purchase workflows and integrations with business systems or external services. We also check who can authorise system changes.
Offline functions, payments, external links and authentication need specific design. We do not claim general compatibility with a platform before reviewing the actual website.
We map services and workflows, choose the architecture and build a first version for priority journeys. Testing checks data, errors, sessions and purchases in an agreed environment. Publication follows the quoted tasks and store review.

We can assess it using the website, documentation and available access. Feasibility depends on integrations and required workflows.
There is no general requirement to do so. Assessment establishes what can be reused and what changes or integrations are needed.
The project needs to check permissions, the price source and rules for each customer. We do not assume these features are already available through APIs.
